When Boyd’s hockey team suddenly needs a new coach, Mike surprises the entire family by recommending for the job. While Mike and Ryan rarely see eye-to-eye on, well, anything, Mike knows that Ryan was actually an all-star hockey player back in high school.

"The Puck Stops Here" is a quintessential Season 5 episode because it highlights the growth of the Baxter-Bud-Vogelson extended family.
